Kerbside Charging with 2.4KW SmartPoint
Using our Telstra 4GX SmartPoint on power poles for kerbside charging is the easiest and most efficient way to expand EV charging access. With power poles available almost everywhere, the 2.4KW SmartPoint can deliver between 10-16 km of range per hour, depending on the vehicle. Operating at just 10 amps, you can install 10 SmartPoints for every single 22KW AC Charger, making it a highly scalable solution.
SmartPoint is Australia's only OCPP 1.6 power point, operating on any OCPP network as a pay-per-use EV/e-mobility charging solution. With increasing regulatory requirements for EVSE installations, SmartPoint ensures compliance with the latest standards, including OCPP 1.6. This makes it a reliable and future-proof choice for meeting evolving guidelines in the electric vehicle charging landscape.
SmartPoint Kerbside Advantages
With a SmartPoint in every spot, there's no need for dedicated EV-only bays. This flexibility allows users to park and follow the existing parking regulations for that spot, eliminating the need for time restrictions like 1-hour limits and freeing up parking for all road users. With council cooperation, DNSPs could extend beyond the power pole and install a bollard-mounted SmartPoint in each spot.
Over 4 million vehicles are "homeless," lacking access to off-street parking and charging facilities. SmartPoint provides a practical solution for kerbside charging, ensuring these vehicles have access to convenient and reliable charging options.
As an OCPP-compliant solution, SmartPoint can integrate into any existing OCPP network without modification, simplifying the management experience for both the DNSP and the end user. Additionally, SmartPoint's compatibility with OCPP means OCPI-enabled network users can use a single app to roam between chargers across different networks, enhancing convenience and accessibility.
